A little about me and my passion working with families!
I love sharing information about Birth Babies and Breastfeeding. One of the best parts of my job is building
relationships with my clients. I strive to empower women to make choices that
are right for them. Engaging and listening to women share their birth and breastfeeding experiences, which I can then pass along to others. I enjoy exchanging and
bringing ideas to the table, so we can brainstorm on how to build a team of
care providers who are supportive of your family’s choices.
Teaching about healthy natural birth and breastfeeding for all women is one of my primary goals.
I was born in Scotland and educated in England then moved to Canada when I was 19 years old. I am a happily married mother of five boys. Each one of my births was a unique and different experience. I’ve had the privilege of having doctor’s, midwives and doulas participate at my births. This has led me to share my passion with other woman and empower them to make the best choices for themselves.
I have been studying maternal care since 1989, graduating with NAMCW (National Association of Maternal and Child Welfare (two years full-time)) and continuing my education with DONA International Birth and Postpartum training, Hypnobabies, HypnoBirthing, Gentle Birth Guardians with Barbara Harper and Nadine Romain and I am Waterbirth Certified. I have studied with Health e-learning and I am a registered IBCLC (International Board Certification Lactation Certificate) and a Registered Lactation Consultant RLC
I am currently a La Leche League Leader Canada, and
I volunteer my time with this valuable mother to mother international
breastfeeding support group.
Many things have changed over time, however one thing which has remained consistent is natural mothering through childbirth and breastfeeding.
Giving women a supportive and caring environment is my goal. ~ Lovingly Fiona ~
