All Doula care is tailored to support the needs of the individual client

Birth Doula Services $800

I like to meet with my clients at least three times prior to the birth of their baby to discuss the following prenatal education

  • Assistance with preparing a comprehensive birth plan, to be reviewed with your Health care provider
  • In-depth discussion about interventions and what to do if they become medically necessary
  • How to use comfort measures on pain relief with positioning and movement
  • Learn about birthing naturally at home or in the hospital.
  • Water Immersion during labour and birth
  • Hypnotherapy and relaxation
  • A friendly ear, ready to listen, care and give suggestion
  • Emotional and physical support for the mother and family
  • Breastfeeding 101, do’s and don’ts and how to prepare to get off to a good start.
  • Provide a list of books and dvd's about pregnancy and breastfeeding some which I have to lend.
  • Ongoing contact and support via text/phone call/email - on call 24/7, awaiting your labour, from 37 weeks.
  • Will join you in your labour and stay with you until 1-2 hours post birth
  • A follow up meeting post birth at your discretion

A doula will accompany a woman in labour and or during the immediate postpartum period to help her achieve her goal of a safe and satisfying birth/postpartum experience.

Doulas are non-clinical care providers trained in providing emotional support, physical comfort and informational support throughout pregnancy, labour/delivery and postpartum.

Doulas are independent providers of skilled assistance related to pregnancy and birth/postpartum.

Doulas work for you, not your caregiver, hospital.

Doulas respect your decisions and support you in facilitating the kind of birth and postpartum experience you have envisioned for yourself.

Having a doula can lead to:

50% fewer caesareans

25% shorter labours with fewer complications

40% less use of pitocin (a labour-inducing drug)

60% fewer requests for epidural anaesthesia

30% decrease in the use of narcotics

better success with breastfeeding

less postpartum depression
